Responsibilities

Oversee the technical aspects of data solutions, ensuring data integrity, and developing and implementing data-driven solutions including ML/ AI infrastructure. Work closely with business stakeholders to understand needs and requirements, translating them into end-to-end data technical solutions.

What you will be doing:

Data Technical Solutions

+ Provide solution for Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence use cases and anticipate future needs while implementing a data technical solution using AWS services. Need to work closely with Data Architects.

+ Maintain and provide state-of-the-art Internal/ External reporting platform solution to support parsing complex logs, big data; transform and load seamlessly and provide solution for data scientists, standard reporting; considering various end-user personas.

+ Drive innovation along with Data Science team with seamless data technical support keeping long-term, scalability during designing phase and contribute to patents and paper publications.

+ Create technical proof-of-concepts and vendor evaluations to support build vs buy decision making. Establish Data Governance, MDM strategy along with Data Architecture team.

+ Establish and prioritize security withing Applications/ Tools to comply with PAC ISM guidelines along with cyber security compliance. In addition to PII, GDPR compliance.

+ Establish and work collaboratively in a DevOps, SAFE Agile culture with a data technical solutions team to build & support systems in both on-premises and cloud-based platforms using industry-standard technologies.

+ Monitor and test application performance periodically for potential breaking points, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.

Management

+ Hire, train, develop and appraise direct staff.

+ Anticipates financial needs, identify vendors, quantifies budget to support project planning, and manages budget per forecast and schedules.

+ Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).

+ Collaborate with cross-functional departments and external customers to improve data product support services.

The salary range of $136,000 - $227,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

+ 4-year degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or other technical degree.

+ MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related fields (Preferred).

+ 5+ years of experience in data engineering or 9+ years of relevant data solutions development experience in lieu of a 4-year degree.

+ 2+ years supervisory, team lead, or project leader experience.

+ Cabin avionics and In-flight entertainment experience highly preferred.

+ Proficient using AWS technologies such as, EC2, ECS, RDS, Redshift, CloudWatch, Lambda, Serverless technologies, Dynamo DB, QuickSight, Glue, S3, CloudFront, Route53, ELB/ALB and Elasticache under production workloads.

+ Proficient in designing, building and managing large scale distributed software defined infrastructure in AWS, GCP & Azure, including experience leveraging one or more coding languages for automation.

+ Proficient in designing and implementing Databases, DataLake and end-to-end Data storage and transfer solutions.

+ Working experience with AWS Sagemaker, PySpark, EMR.

+ Hands-on experience on unit-coverage, SonarCube, preferred.

+ Demonstrated knowledge and experience of software development practices. Knowledge of one of several programming languages would be a plus (C#, JavaScript, Java, Python, SQL).

+ Ability to lead an operations team globally, operations teams' awareness, understanding and curiosity about data science and machine learning. Creation and adherence to industry/ customer accepted SLAs.

+ Ability to understand the global department’s mission and vision, and able to communicate that to the teams to motivate and inspire them to work as a cohesive force.

+ Experience with managing frequent changes, reprioritizing tasks, mitigating delays or unexpected events.

+ Ability to anticipate potential escalations and communicate to leadership. Perform quality reviews, manage operations, and triage operational issues.

+ Ability to facilitate organizational transformation to support business strategy.

+ Demonstrated ability to drive ownership and accountability in delivering quality products on time to customers.

+ Ability to work in a diverse, fast paced, ever changing environment.

+ Ability to receive assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.

+ Demonstrated leadership, people and team building skills. Ability to effectively resolve staff issues as they arise.

+ Proven experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering practices and culture.

+ Exceptional verbal, written communication and organizational skills, along with interpersonal skills that allow for collaboration across a diverse and global group of people.

+ Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 10% of time.

This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year plus a paid company-wide shut down in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year.
