Job Title: Process Control Engineer
We working with a company that is seeking a skilled and motivated Process Control Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in designing, installing, maintaining, and optimizing the company's site automation systems. Your expertise will drive ongoing plant optimization initiatives aimed at enhancing capacity, reducing costs, maintaining quality, and minimizing environmental impacts.
Key Responsibilities
+ Design and develop comprehensive industrial control system solutions, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Human Machine Interface (HMI) programs, tailored to meet operational needs for construction and maintenance projects.
+ Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including system conversions and upgrades, to ensure optimal performance and reliability of control systems.
+ Collaborate closely with plant operations and engineering teams to identify process control requirements and effectively integrate these into the control systems.
+ Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for control equipment, assess alarm system metrics, and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
+ Provide expert guidance to Control System Specialists during upgrade projects and troubleshooting efforts.
+ Oversee the field construction and commissioning of DCS/PLC equipment associated with maintenance or capital projects, ensuring proper installation and performance through rigorous loop checks.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of DCS system status and changes, and conduct training sessions for relevant personnel.
+ Support process safety initiatives, including Process Hazard Assessments (PHA) and Management of Change (MOC).
+ Investigate and evaluate new technologies to reduce hardware costs and enhance automation efficiency.
+ Manage and oversee assigned projects, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and schedule objectives by following the Project Life Cycle process.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related technical discipline).
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in process control systems, particularly with DCS-based control systems in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
+ Proven experience with control systems architecture and operational aspects
+ Proficiency with DCS systems (DeltaV / Ovation, Siemens PCS7 / OSx, or Honeywell Experion) and PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE).
+ Strong troubleshooting skills related to wiring and instrumentation, complemented by project management experience.
+ Ability to analyze complex data and develop effective problem-solving strategies.
+ Exceptional integrity, creativity, and collaborative teamwork abilities.
