    Job Summary (Purpose):

    The EBT Director provides leadership and direction to members of the EBT organization as it pertains to the continuous evolution of technology solutions. In addition, the EBT Director provides the thought leadership and direction to support the budgeting and spending controls related to Information Technology (IT) expenditures supporting the business units within the Natural Gas Division.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Planning: collaborates with the IT PMO business leaders, and other UGI entities to create an actionable 18-month roadmap of technical functionality enhancements and of innovative technology solution deployments. Collaborates with the business units to plan and support change management and communications related to solution deployments. Contributes to the definition and execution of technology strategic plans. Supports and provides guidance on the adoption of innovative technology solutions and creation of business cases for these solutions.

    • Governance: manages and enforces the use of common processes, standards, procedures, and practices for managing, classifying, and working on business requests. Ensures alignment with IT request management processes as well as alignment with the IT systems development lifecycle. Develops and maintains a strong partnership with functional areas to have a detailed operational focus aligned with business needs, and priorities. Works cross-functionally with other business units to advance strategic initiatives. Interacts in a highly collaborative manner with internal constituents and external partners and effectively represents the business with the vendors. Establishes structures to support the adoption of innovative technology solutions.

    • NatGas IT Budget and Expense Management: manages the IT-related financial activities covering operational, labor, and capital budgets. Aligns with the PMO organization in planning and managing the capital expenses. Monitors expenses and prioritization of spending. Collaborates with Procurement and Finance organizations in optimizing spending and in applying controls and policies. Works with Accounting in defining and updating formulas to enable the allocation of costs for goods and services shared across multiple business units. Consults with stakeholders to identify and control the total costs and benefits within the context of the strategic and tactical plans, and initiate corrective action where needed.

    • General management & Administration: Attracts, develops, and retains talent to the EBT. Plans and drives the development and growth of the EBT team embers with a focus towards solution optimization. Ensures active participation from EBT members in solution user communities to influence strategic direction of solutions and influence changes to the vendor solution roadmap.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    General:

    • Ability to translate business objectives to actionable work plans.

    • Knowledge of regulated utilities accounting and regulatory requirements, and ability to apply this knowledge in the planning, management, and execution of IT budgets, expense management, and cost allocations.

    • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment utilizing strong people skills to successfully interact and influence stakeholders and business partners

    Problem Solving:

    • Ability to decompose complex or unusual business problems, and to direct team members through the definition of options for solving complex problems.

    • Ability to anticipate risks and challenges, and to define mitigation plans to address them proactively

    Business Focus:

    • Knowledge of business and IT business functions objectives and drivers, and ability to apply this knowledge in prioritizing team activities.

    • Ability to resolve conflict and deal with issues in a constructive manner with individuals at all levels of the organization.

    • Ability to guide teams to innovate and develop options to best address business needs.

    Leadership:

    • Excellent organizational and operational skills and the ability to manage multiple, concurrent priorities.

    • Ability to establish and maintain successful relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors in support of business objectives and needs

    Education and Experience Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Finance, Business, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience

    • 10 years in information technology, business process modeling, or related field

    • ITIL Foundations preferred

    • Proficiency in MS Office products
