Job Title: Inventory Specialist
Job Description
The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for unloading incoming trucks and storing received materials in designated locations, specifically large rolls of non-coated film products. This role involves comparing and identifying information such as counts, weights, labels, and measurements of shipments to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Additionally, the candidate will assemble wooden or cardboard containers for oversized rolls, adhering to shipping regulations.
Responsibilities
+ Unload incoming trucks and store materials in proper locations.
+ Compare and verify shipment details against bills of lading, invoices, and orders.
+ Assemble and select containers for shipments based on size and regulations.
+ Stamp or glue identifying information and shipping instructions on crates or containers.
+ Operate a forklift or use hand trucks to move shipments as necessary.
+ Prepare Bills of Lading for shipments and manage order pulling tasks.
+ Pull daily releases and assist with scheduling and maintaining the shipping department.
+ Collaborate with the slitting department to ensure materials are ready for shipment.
Essential Skills
+ 1-2 years of experience in receiving and inventory control.
+ 2 years of experience in inventory control.
+ 1-2 years of experience in shipment scheduling.
+ Proficiency in warehouse management systems and operations.
+ Skill in SAP, data entry, and customer service.
+ Experience with sit-down forklifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
+ Proficiency in computer billing systems and shipping programs.
+ Physical ability to lift or move 40lbs and up to 100lbs.
+ Experience with RF scanners and packaging.

Work Environment
The Inventory Specialist will work in shipping and receiving roles, exposed to mechanical parts and varying temperatures inside and outside the dock. While the production area is climate controlled, the warehouse environment differs, with heat in summer and cold in winter. The role operates on a second shift schedule, around 3-11 PM, with potential adjustments. The work involves physical demands, including handling large rolls of materials.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Chesterfield, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
