We are seeking a talented Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software systems. You will participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, and testing. You will develop software for bare-metal systems and work with real-time operating systems, utilizing DO-178B/C or similar standards for software development in safety-critical environments. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and architecture is essential, as well as debugging and troubleshooting hardware and software issues. You will use version control systems like GIT, issue tracking tools like JIRA, and requirements management tools like DOORS. Experience with processors such as 68K, ColdFire, Xilinx Ultrascale+, and i.MX is required.
Responsibilities
+ Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software systems.
+ Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, and testing.
+ Develop software for bare-metal systems and work with real-time operating systems.
+ Utilize DO-178B/C or similar standards for software development in safety-critical environments.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and architecture.
+ Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
+ Utilize version control systems (GIT), issue tracking tools (JIRA), and requirements management tools (DOORS).
+ Work with processors such as 68K, ColdFire, Xilinx Ultrascale+, and i.MX.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded software development with a focus on full lifecycle development.
+ Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
+ Solid understanding of bare metal programming and real-time operating systems.
+ Experience with DO-178 or similar safety-critical standards.
+ Proficiency in tools such as GIT, JIRA, and DOORS.
+ Hands-on experience with processors like 68K, ColdFire, Xilinx Ultrascale+, and i.MX.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders.
+ Experience with lab tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and logic analyzers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in the aerospace and defense industry using DO178 guidelines.
+ Understanding of additional programming languages and tools relevant to embedded systems.
+ Experience with Python is a plus.
+ Familiarity with Linux operating systems is desirable.
+ Experience with wireless technologies such as Cellular (GSM, LTE) and Wifi.
+ Experience with cyber security standards.
Work Environment
This position is based in a small office environment with a supportive and collaborative culture. The team enjoys a family-like atmosphere and engages in various team activities. The work environment includes a small engineering bench.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $145000.00/hr.
