Job Title: Supplier Quality EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to evaluate and audit supplier processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and maintaining high-quality production.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct process audits at supplier facilities to assess quality systems, manufacturing practices, and compliance with industry standards such as AS9100 and NADCAP.
+ Evaluate and approve new suppliers, performing initial qualification audits and ongoing surveillance.
+ Develop, maintain, and execute supplier audit schedules based on risk assessments and performance history.
+ Work closely with suppliers to investigate non-conformances, determine root causes, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
+ Monitor and report on supplier quality performance metrics, including PPAP/FAI results, delivery quality, and responsiveness.
+ Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and program management to support new product introduction (NPI) and supplier readiness.
+ Ensure supplier processes are capable and controlled for critical aerospace components and special processes.
+ Assist in developing and maintaining supplier quality agreements and related documentation.
+ Stay current on aerospace quality regulations, customer-specific requirements, and industry trends.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in AS9100 and supplier quality audits.
+ Ability to perform audits and evaluations independently.
+ Experience with lean six sigma methodologies.
+ Knowledge of APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and control plans.
+ Experience with SAP and ERP systems.
+ Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience or 15+ years of relevant experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulations.
+ Strong communication skills for collaboration with senior leadership and government customers.
Work Environment
The role requires candidates to be located close to a major airport due to 70% travel requirements, which may decrease over time. The position offers the opportunity to work in a small, rapidly growing organization with collaboration opportunities with senior -level leadership.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
