    Minimum qualifications:

    + Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.

    + 7 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis.

    Preferred qualifications:

    + PhD degree in Psychology, Economics, Statistics, Marketing Science, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

    + 9 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis.

    + Experience conducting research within the technology, media, entertainment, or sports industries.

    + Knowledge of Bayesian methods.

     

    Google's leadership team hand-picks thorny business challenges, and members of BizOps work in small teams to find solutions. As part of this team you fully immerse yourself in data collection, draw insight from analysis, and then zoom out to develop compelling, synthesized recommendations. Taking strategy one step further, you also persuasively communicate your recommendations to senior-level executives, roll-up your sleeves to help drive implementation and check back-in to see the impact of your recommendations.

     

    As a Staff Business Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of YouTube products. You will leverage your deep expertise in behavioral sciences, and both quantitative and qualitative research, to evaluate the market potential and consumer appeal of new initiatives, particularly within sports, music, and media. You will directly influence product development and Go-To-Market strategies. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to translate research findings.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.     + Develop quantitative models to estimate market size, forecast product uptake, and identify key value drivers for new product concepts in sports, music, and media.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional partners in product management, strategy, business development, marketing, and finance to integrate research findings into business cases and planning.

    + Present research methodologies, findings, and recommendations clearly and persuasively to different audiences, including executives.

    + Analyze and synthesize research data to translate findings into actionable insights and recommendations for Go-To-Market (GTM) and product teams.
