SUMMARY
The Business Development Manager for Amphenol CIT (ACIT) plays a key role in achieving Amphenol’s aggressive growth strategy by developing, growing and sustaining business associated with assigned accounts at acceptable margins. The Business Development Manager (BDM) ensures that ACIT is professionally and responsibly represented within assigned accounts as well as in the industry, identifies market trends and develops strategies to capitalize on opportunities to grow account or market share and maximize profit margin. The BDM is the subject matter expert on their accounts for both internal and external customers. The BDM will develop strong relationships, identify market trends and opportunities, and develop and close sales opportunities for ACIT’s products and services. The BDM is accountable for identifying and developing business opportunities within their accounts, assigned prospects, and entirely new opportunities; This position will support accounts related to the IFECI (Inflight Entertainment, Connectivity, and Aircraft Interior) market, in particular within airlines and avionics OEMs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
+ Manage and develop assigned prospect accounts revenue. Manage and ensure customer satisfaction. Review, investigate, qualify, and develop sales opportunities for ACIT through appropriate proposition and ethical sales methods. Develop strategy, tactics, sales plans, and profit targets.
+ Raise the company profile, increase turnover and expand product range sales within assigned prospect accounts. Build market position and increase market share by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing sales opportunities.
+ Achieve/exceed the annual year-over-year growth goal for assigned prospect accounts.
+ Track and provide updates to sales team and leaders on key account(s) and opportunities, including changes in business performance within the industry, acquisitions, program wins, changes in leadership within engineering, supply chain, and management, & long-term growth strategy. Develop and implement strategies and actions to close sales funnel opportunities.
+ Provide strategic account review:
+ Create and execute an account roadmap strategy
+ A long-term account penetration plan
+ Analyze sales and financial data and prepare reports, statements, and projections for reporting to ACIT leadership (monthly & annually).
+ Create and execute product placement and Product Expansion Strategy. Work with product management to specify customer and market requirements for new and existing products.
+ Develop strong relationships with all levels in the customer’s organization, including within purchasing and engineering. Develop strong relationships with assigned prospect accounts and be an evangelist for ACIT within assigned account, particularly within the IFECI and engineering groups.
+ Travel to present and market ACIT products and services to existing accounts and new business opportunities.
+ Identify market trends through research and related events, publications, and announcements, tracking individual customers and their accomplishments. Similarly, develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of competition and competitive products and maintain analysis of competitive strengths and weaknesses.
+ Analyze these market trends and customer needs to identify potential company resources, and coordinate sales efforts with product and technical experts to respond effectively.
+ Attend industry meetings, conferences, trade shows, online seminars, plus other events, and perform product demonstrations at these where and when appropriate.
+ Work closely with the customer experience team to ensure they are kept up to date with all relevant details on the accounts they manage, thus ensuring high-quality of service.
+ Provide technical support to internal and external customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
+ A minimum of 5 years’ direct experience in a business development/ sales role, including all aspects of sales development and execution, preferably with the Aerospace industry.
+ Relevant degree in Engineering, Business, or related degree. Bachelor or Master’s degree preferred
+ A technical background within electrical/mechanical engineering, antenna systems and/or Aircraft modification is beneficial.
+ History working with Avionics OEMs, Airlines, particularly in a Flight Operations, Engineering or IFEC capacity, is advantageous.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
+ Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Additional language would be an advantage.
+ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
+ Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts, NDAs, and regulatory documents.
+ Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and high-level financial proposals.
+ Strong positive leadership skills, ability to lead both direct and indirect colleagues, motivate others, and build effective teams
+ Ability to understand and work with financial reports and data (e.g., P&L statements, Cost Workups, Pricing, Gross Margin, and other product analysis metrics)
+ Ability to collect data and construct portfolio analysis models and analytics and reports
+ Proficient in MS Office to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint
+ Experience with SAP and Salesforce CRM Platform desirable.
