Extrusion Technician 2 – Irvine, CA

KellyBPO, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is seeking an Extrusion Technician II for a long-term position with one of our Global Clients based in Irvine, CA.

This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, 401k, and paid time off.

**Title:** Extrusion Technician II

**Location:** Irvine (92618)

**Pay:** $28hr minimum; plus benefits and PTO

**Hours:** M-F first shift

**Duration:** long term

Responsibilities:

+ Work from blueprints, drawings, models, and/or sketches, fabricates prototype components for new products.

+ Analyze design specifications to determine programming requirements, equipment adjustments, and material requirements.

+ Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction

+ Ability to work with engineers and other related fields to produce desired tooling, fixtures, castings, or parts.

+ Ability to build relationships with vendors and order materials from suppliers.

+ Set up and activate machine - performs program editing as applicable per design requirements.

+ Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.

+ Trouble shoots equipment and/or material issues, works with suppliers to repair equipment as needed.

+ Measures finished work piece features against design requirements to determine accuracy of machine operation adjusts/modifies as needed.

+ Creates, and runs appropriate programs.

+ Exemplifies a high degree of safety during work in process.

+ When applicable, follows standard operating procedures for all tasks.

+ Maintains clean and orderly work area.

+ Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level

+ Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices.

+ Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

+ Performs other duties assigned as needed

Qualifications:

+ Minimum High School Diploma or GED.

+ 2-5 years or more related experience with braiders, laminators, and extrusion equipment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Certifications/Licenses:

+ Must have good to excellent organizational skills.

+ Must be thorough and detail oriented.

+ Must be able to successfully complete company/department training courses in manufacturing techniques.

+ Ability to learn regulatory GMP requirements

+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

+ Must have basic reading, writing and communication skills in the English language.

+ Ability to read blueprints/technical drawings.

+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hand and arms.

+ The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.

Additional Position Requirements:

+ Weekend and overtime work may be required

+ Position required to work with a variety of manufacturing equipment

+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts.

+ The noise level is often loud. Hearing and eye protection must be worn at all times while performing job duties

+ Safety shoes must be worn at all times while performing job duties
