Job Summary:
CPHS is excited to launch a search for a full-time Clinical, Skills, & Simulation Laboratory Coordinator in the Accelerated BSN program. This position represents an unique opportunity for an outstanding individual to join our innovative healthcare degree program. The Coordinator will manage the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of experiences within the various clinical, skills, and simulation learning labs. They will also adapt an interdisciplinary approach to all functions of the college and community partners.
To thrive in this role, the individual will have strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and partners in a positive, helpful, and cooperative working relationship. Advanced technical and computer skills are required and flexibility to adopt new technology is essential.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, project, and time management skills to implement student learning opportunities in clinical, lab, and simulation environments. Initiative and the ability to work independently while thriving in a setting requiring collaboration and teamwork is paramount for maximal efficiency and effectiveness. Maintenance of confidential information per college and federal guidelines is also required.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a related field preferred. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the education of nurses in clinical practice or nursing students is desired. Experience in a simulation laboratory or clinical education setting; simulation certification including CHSE (Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator) or CHSOS (Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist), or interest in obtaining credentials; instructor certification in BLS are preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Licensure to practice nursing in the State of Iowa (or the ability to obtain) with minimum of 2 years experience in nursing practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in nursing or related field
• Experience in a simulation laboratory or clinical education setting.
• Simulation certification, CHSE (Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator) or CHSOS (Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist), or interest in obtaining these credentials.
• Instructor certification in BLS.

Job Duties:
+ 50% - Daily operations - Manage the daily operations of clinical, skills, and simulation learning experiences within the ABSN program. This includes clinical, lab, and simulation scheduling while forming relationships with established and new clinical partners, education and oversight in clinical settings, and maintenance of the lab/simulation environment. Collaborate with the experiential office as needed and assist with onboarding of nursing students - (Essential)
+ 45% - Teaching and Faculty Support – Development, instruction, and evaluation of clinical skills in lab, simulation, and clinical settings using an evidence-based approach for optimal learning environment. Assist with the creation of simulated or standardized patient scenarios. - (Essential)
+ 5% - Professional Growth - Effectively sustain adequate job knowledge, professional growth, and problem-solving abilities, including current evidence in the field of health sciences simulation and clinical practice. - (Essential)
