Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Software Engineer to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to design and develop scalable backend systems and cloud-native applications while contributing to high-impact projects. The ideal candidate will thrive in collaborative, Agile environments and possess strong expertise in backend development and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement large-scale backend systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.

• Develop, optimize, and maintain APIs, including GraphQL, to ensure seamless integration across systems.

• Address complex engineering challenges such as handling large datasets, concurrency, and system integration.

• Design and maintain cloud-native applications using AWS services such as Lambda, S3, Docker, and DynamoDB.

• Utilize multiple programming languages, including Java, Python, Node.js, Go, or similar open-source technologies.

• Collaborate with Agile teams, including product managers and offshore developers, to align technical solutions with business objectives.

• Create and manage CI/CD pipelines, adhering to DevOps best practices for efficient software delivery.

• Analyze and resolve system bottlenecks, ensuring high performance and availability of applications.

• Mentor team members, fostering growth and knowledge sharing within the development team. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering with attention to detail.

• Strong expertise in backend development, including object-oriented programming and microservices architecture.

• Proficiency in cloud technologies, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Hands-on experience with API development and optimization, including GraphQL.

• Familiarity with multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or Go.

• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and collaboration within cross-functional teams.

• Proven ability to design and implement CI/CD pipelines using DevOps practices.
