Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Pleasanton, California. In this role, you will play a key part in managing the accounts receivable process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with company policies. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively resolve disputes and communicate with clients.
Responsibilities:
• Review and process incoming credit applications from third-party vendors, ensuring accurate entry into company and financial systems.
• Record funding from finance companies and post payments into the accounting system and bank using desktop deposit tools.
• Monitor monthly accounts receivable reports, writing off balances as necessary for bad debt and closed layaway accounts.
• Handle finance and credit card disputes, processing refunds and credits while making adjustments to customer accounts.
• Communicate proactively with clients and store teams to address overdue payments and resolve invoice disputes.
• Reconcile accounts receivable and prepare detailed collections and aging reports for distribution.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of accounts and collection efforts, ensuring all records are orderly and complete.
• Conduct research on account discrepancies and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and requirements during all accounts receivable activities.
• Prepare monthly financial reports related to finance companies and credit card chargebacks, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a related field.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
• Strong knowledge of accounting functions, including billing, cash activity, and post-payment processes.
• Experience with credit application reviews, approvals, and analysis.
• Ability to process refunds, manage chargebacks, and generate aging reports.
• Excellent communication skills for resolving disputes and collaborating with clients and internal teams.
• High attention to detail and organizational abilities for maintaining accurate documentation.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and compliance standards.
