Description We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In this role, you will oversee critical accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with industry standards. As a key contributor, you will also play a vital role in mentoring less experienced staff and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Provide mentorship and guidance to a Staff Accountant, fostering growth and development.

• Oversee the preparation, review, and distribution of monthly financial statements with a focus on accuracy and reliability.

• Manage the general ledger and monthly close processes, including account analyses and reconciliations.

• Conduct financial data analysis to monitor trends, costs, revenues, and cash flow while ensuring adherence to company policies.

• Support the year-end audit process by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

• Monitor inventory levels, accounts receivable aging, and supplier aging to maintain financial health.

• Process daily and monthly transactions, balancing and reconciling general ledger accounts.

• Maintain the integrity of financial systems and ensure seamless integration with other software applications.

• Identify areas for process improvement and lead implementation efforts to enhance efficiency.

• Stay updated on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ensure compliance in all accounting practices. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

• CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.

• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, either in public or private sectors.

• Proficiency in account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries.

• Extensive experience with month-end close processes.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Familiarity with Workday Financial Management or similar software applications.
