Description
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accounting Manager or Controller to join our team in Bethesda, Maryland. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to apply your expertise in commercial real estate and property management accounting. The ideal candidate will excel in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy, and providing strategic insights.
Responsibilities:
• Manage daily financial activities, including cash wires, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze management fee schedules, bill backs, and real estate tax reconciliations for Maryland properties.
• Handle cash reporting and forecasting to support financial planning.
• Review and approve accounts payable and accounts receivable entries to ensure accurate coding and posting.
• Oversee full-cycle accounting processes, including closing activities and financial statement preparation.
• Provide leadership and guidance on property management-related accounting tasks.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Utilize MRI Software and Microsoft Excel for efficient financial data management.
• Conduct detailed reviews of Maryland real estate tax records as needed.
Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with a strong focus on commercial property management.
• Degree in Accounting; CPA highly preferred.
• Proficiency in full-cycle accounting and oversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Hands-on experience with commercial real estate and property management accounting.
• Familiarity with MRI Software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Maryland real estate tax reconciliations is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce accurate financial forecasts and reports.
• Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
