Position Summary: The Quality Calibration Technician performs scheduled NIST traceable calibrations on manual and equipment gages that are identified in a Gage Tracking System to assure the gage is fit to accept or reject product. Some examples of manual and equipment gages requiring calibration are micrometers, drop indicators, pin gages, dial calipers, thread gages, flow test stands, pressure gages, temperature gages, flow meters, etc. The Quality Calibration Technician will be responsible for some and/or a combination of the key responsibilities below.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Perform calibrations on various manual and equipment gages.
+ Assist Engineering and Maintenance on troubleshooting equipment gages (as needed)
+ Manage the inputs and outputs of the electronic Gage Tracking System
+ Ensures Metrology Lab temperature and humidity is documented daily.
+ Perform 1st article inspection and receiving inspection. This includes the use of a high precision contact (CMM) and non-contact (Vision system) Metrology equipment. This will include programming measurement strategy.
+ Ensure all relevant data used for Calibration Metrics are accurate and up to date.
+ Participate in Continuous Improvement Activities
+ Collect monthly calibration fluid samples, this may include performing fluid testing
+ Input relevant data used for Calibration Metrics
+ Perform inspections used for Gage R&R, Process Capability and Engineering Studies (as needed)
+ Participate in other quality functions such as Internal & 3rd Party Auditing, PDCA’s & CAR’s (as needed)
+ Manage Lost/ Missing Gages List – including communication to various disciplines within the facility.
+ Manage 3rd party calibration logistics.
+ Creating/ updating calibration procedures and instructions (as needed)
+ Responsible for working with production to minimize downtime – this includes manual and equipment gages.
+ Administer the rejected gage product impact assessment process.
Required Qualifications:
+ Associate of Science (AS) degree and/or 3 plus years of related experience
+ Proficient in the use/programming of CMM
+ Strong understanding of ASME Y14.5
+ Proficiency in comprehending technical drawings (Including GD&T) and written work instruction(s)
+ MS Office competency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
+ Strong organizational and communication skills
+ Self-Starter who is motivated by external and internal customer satisfaction and favorable metrics.
+ Detail and results oriented
+ Ability to adapt to changing priorities
+ Must pass onsite visual acuity test
Desired Qualifications:
+ Proficient in the use and programming of Vision Systems
+ Basic manufacturing environment knowledge
+ Safety and Compliance minded.
+ A comprehensive understanding of AS9100/ ISO 9001, ISO17025, including auditor experience.
+ Prior inspection experience
+ Compile Capability, Gage R&R studies using software (i.e. Minitab or similar)
