SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant - Process Improvement will work with organizational leadership to identify, create, and implement process and system modifications to improve our business operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

+ Collaborate with organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend process and system modifications, and develop standards for various processes

+ Aid in the implementation of new accounting processes, policies, standards, and guidelines to enhance efficiency and accuracy

+ Document the accounting processes in support of the job responsibilities.

+ Establish and maintain appropriate infrastructure and systems

+ Identify opportunities for automation and to introduce digital solutions

+ Deliver tools and analysis to help drive the digital transformation in Accounting

+ Train and coach users in adoption and implementation on automated and analytical tools

+ All other duties as assigned.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

+ Solid understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (US GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

+ Record to Report experience is a plus

+ Experience with accounting software

+ Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation

+ Highly detail-oriented

+ Understand and use agile and design thinking principles for everyday work

+ Ability to influence across divisions and teams to drive process improvements and automation

+ Takes initiative and is results orientated who is able to think independently and who has a desire to make a difference.

+ Emphasis on documentation and automation

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities

+ Ability to work in a team-based environment, and interact cooperatively with internal and external customers

+ Strong understanding of process design and execution; ability to identify ways to integrate analytics solutions into existing business processes

+ Ability to analyze processes and data, identify links between facts, ideas, and situations that have no obvious connection

+ Passion for solving complex problems and generating cross-functional solutions in a fast-paced environment

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a four-year college or university and at least five years working experience in Accounting/Finance with External/Internal Audit and Internal Controls experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior Public Accounting experience required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CPA preferred, but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger and type. The employee needs to be able to hear well enough to communicate with coworkers and applicants. The employee must be able to see well enough to read written items and use a computer.
