Power Systems Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and driven Lead EPMS Technician to spearhead mission-critical projects in the Columbus industrial construction sector. This role requires strong knowledge of electrical theory, practical field experience, and a leadership mindset to support our rapidly growing EPMS division. We are looking for someone ready to mentor others and manage systems that must operate with zero downtime.

Responsibilities

+ Lead the installation, configuration, and commissioning of EPMS systems for industrial and data center environments.

+ Oversee and mentor a team of Controls Technicians across multiple active projects.

+ Create EPMS projects using Ignition software templates.

+ Troubleshoot advanced technical issues under pressure with precision and clarity.

+ Attend project meetings with vendors, GCs, and customers to ensure requirements are met.

+ Configure devices such as meters, gateways, and network switches.

+ Modify project parameters to achieve performance goals.

+ Maintain clear records of commissioning activities using Procore.

+ Ensure compliance with safety standards and work protocols.

Essential Skills

+ Strong understanding of electrical theory and its application in EPMS and BMS systems.

+ Solid experience with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus).

+ Familiarity with SCADA software (Ignition, Niagara).

+ Proficiency in computers, networking, and MS Office.

+ Experience with troubleshooting and working in live, mission-critical spaces.

+ At least 1 year of hands-on controls or systems commissioning experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 2 or 4 year degree in a related field (preferred 4 year degree).

+ Ignition Basic Certification or higher.

+ Background in software development (Python preferred).

+ Prior experience in managing BMS/EPMS commissioning in data centers.

Work Environment

This position involves working in both indoor and outdoor construction site environments, with occasional in-office work at the Worthington location for training and certifications. All work is based within the Columbus area.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $41.00/hr.
