My client, a leading gene therapy company in the Philadelphia area, is seeking a skilled, organized, and detail-oriented Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Technician to support the infield verification of instrumentation installation and control system operation. This position will work under our client’s Engineering teams (Automation and Site) and directly with Facilities and Metrology.
The technician will also routinely support project commissioning, construction, and applicable subcontractors. The primary responsibility is to ensure instrumentation is installed and tested per design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Perform loop checks, signal verification, and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
+ Ensure instrumentation installation complies with project specifications and regulatory standards.
+ Review and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
+ Participate in large capital project execution.
+ Ensure GMP compliance in all areas of validation/qualification.
+ Liaise with key personnel within project teams to ensure validation tasks are completed in a timely manner.
+ Manage and track issues or discrepancies to ensure timely resolution.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Science or related technical field.
+ 5+ years of Quality Assurance/Validation experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.
+ GMP experience.
+ Strong understanding of QA principles, industry practices, and standards with demonstrated ability to apply these to GMP operations.
+ Experience with loop checks, signal verification, and troubleshooting instrumentation.
+ Familiarity with reviewing and interpreting P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
+ Experience with PLC, DCS, or SCADA systems.
+ Knowledge of ISA standards.
+ Technical trade school or apprenticeship program completion is a plus.
+ Relevant certifications in instrumentation or controls.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $42.00/hr.
