    Summary

    The Manager will provide guidance, direction and resources in various design projects to satisfy the production and maintenance departments' needs while maintaining a satisfactory cost-benefit ratio, and complying with safety, environmental and quality standards. Responsible for leading and supervising a team of engineers as they develop, test, modify, and create solutions to technical problems. Their duty is also to provide technical direction to the engineering team. The role will also be a companywide resource by working with other facilities to address technical and compliance issues as they occur.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Confer with higher levels of management.

    + Review, approve, or modify product designs.

    + The director has the duty to oversee the process of the development of the budget so needs to implement approved engineering budgets and monitor actual expenses to ensure they fall within budgets.

    + Present the engineering plans, progress status updates and stationers to project stakeholders and financiers.

    + Supervise and lead engineers.

    + Ensure the success in meeting respective objectives and goals timely.

    + Hire, train, and mentor other engineers and supporting staff.

    + Make detailed plans to accomplish group goals.

    + Analyze the budget expenses and incomes.

    + Oversee the research and development of new products and procedures.

    Typical Education

    + Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

    Relevant Experience

    + 8+ years related experience and/or training

    Other Information

    + Must have excellent management and supervisory skills and above average oral and written communication skills.

    + Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time and project management skills such as planning out work, developing budgets, tracking expenditures, following up on assignments, and keeping appropriate documentation of activities.

    + Must be able to accurately define problems, collect data, interpret analytical results, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations to upper management.

    + Adheres to all standards, policies and systems as appropriate.
