    Director II Sales

    **Location** : _This role requires associates to be in-office_ **_3 days per week_** _, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. The candidate should reside in Northern CA and be available to work in either Walnut Creek or Rancho Cordova Pulse Point locations._

     

    The **Director II Sales** is responsible for directing account management retention and sales activities for large complex accounts with medical and specialty products. Typically directs sales and/or renewal activities with annual Premium Equivalents between $500 million and $1.0 billion and membership greater than 190,000 contracts/members. The staff under this leadership includes 4 Strategic Account Managers, and 7 other Service/Support staff.

    How you will make an impact:

    + Provides leadership and strategic direction to ensure profitable growth.

    + Develops strategies and executes retention/sales plans to achieve membership retention, growth and financial goals.

    + Develops sales, marketing and business plans

    + Recruits, develops and manages staff to drive market results

    + Reports to RVP of Sales for the NCA Market

    + Leverages a strong understanding of underwriting concepts to represent and lead renewal negotiations within the market.

    + Works alongside other Market Sales leaders and team to develop strong market relationships including those with broker, general agents and employers.

    + Attends and represents Anthem in broker, employer and prospect finalist meetings

    + Understands strategic sales strategies, introducing and leading the team to sell new products and funding solutions to existing clients.

    + Develops a strong culture amongst the team, demonstrating discipline, results orientation, team work, the ability to strongly advocate for customers/brokers and market needs, while building strong relationships internally.

    + Travel will be required.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 8 years of professional/leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

    Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

    + Excellent managerial and leadership skills strongly preferred.

    + Strong written and oral communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and well organized preferred.

    + Proven track record in achieving sales, retention or business results preferred.

    + Experience with managing Market/Broker relationships preferred.

    + Experience within the healthcare/health insurance industry preferred.

     

    For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $169,312 to $277,056.
