Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/PLCYPLN) in the CYBER SECURITY BRANCH (CSB) of MCLB ALBANY GA. Responsibilities You will serve as the Branch Head of the Cyber Security Branch (CSB). You will be responsible for managing the activities of professional, technical, and military subordinate employees engaged in various functions of the branch. You will identify developmental and training needs of employees and provides for or arranges needed development and training. You will Plan and establish work schedules, deadlines, and standards for acceptable work. You will provide advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems. You will audit information security requirements for IT computer systems including specifications for individual systems and agency policies and procedures You will provide technical guidance in the requirements gathering, design, coding, and testing to ensure all Information Security requirements are satisfied. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Monitors and evaluates systems' compliance with IT security requirements. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Coordinates a variety of complex and unusual security issues with security officers. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Prepares and delivers presentations to management on audit findings. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Coordinates a variety of complex and unusual security issues with security officers. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector experience in applying IT security principles and methods; evaluate, recommend, implement, and disseminate IT security tools, procedures, and practices to protect information assets; understanding of policy and planning processes; cost benefit analysis methods and performance metrics. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience in applying IT security principles and methods; evaluate, recommend, implement, and disseminate IT security tools, procedures, and practices to protect information assets; understanding of policy and planning processes; cost benefit analysis methods and performance metrics. Education Additional Information This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 722 Information Systems Security Manager, proficiency level Advanced the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees but are not guaranteed. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
