Traveling Surg Tech (CST or SPD) Days StaffFlex Contract** **West Florida Division

GENERAL SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated Traveling Surgical Technology Coordinator to support the implementation and oversight of a clinical upskilling program in partnership with AdventHealth. This is a project-based, six-month assignment based in the West Florida area—ideal for a skilled surgical technologist or clinical leader who thrives in dynamic environments.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as the on-site coordinator for surgical technology training and development.

• Liaise with hospital staff, surgical teams, and external partners to ensure smooth implementation of the upskilling program.

• Build relationships with site leadership to foster buy-in, address skepticism, and support successful adoption of the program across all participating campuses.

• Provide hands-on support in surgical suites and related training settings.

• Use structured evaluation rubrics to ensure consistent assessment of trainee performance across sites.

• Monitor program delivery, track outcomes, and provide feedback for improvement.

• Compile and submit detailed weekly reports to AdventHealth/Pangea Learning stakeholders, summarizing performance metrics, site updates, and any risks or remediation needs.

• Establish daily contact with on-site OR Preceptors to monitor trainee performance and behavior. Act as a liaison to gather feedback, identify early warning signs, and escalate issues to AdventHealth/Pangea Learning leadership as needed.

• Maintain compliance with AdventHealth protocols and safety standards.

• Travel to various clinical sites as needed within the West Florida region. (Weekly/as needed visits.)

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Associate degree or Technical certificate/diploma in a related field

• 2 years of experience in surgical technology, allied health college admissions, career services, or healthcare program coordination.

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT (may vary based on facility requirements).

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Advanced cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as required by hospital/unit

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification as required by hospital/unit.
