    Henry Ford Health is seeking a dynamic and collaborative, experienced leader to serve as the Director, Clinical Program – Cardiovascular Services, overseeing the strategic, operational, and quality performance of cardiovascular care within our system. This essential leadership role offers the opportunity to shape and grow a high-impact service line in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and executive leadership.

     

    The Director of the Cardiovascular Clinical Program provides administrative and operational leadership for the cardiovascular service line across the hospital system. This role is responsible for the strategic direction, fiscal management, operational efficiency, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance of all cardiac and cardiovascular programs. The Director works collaboratively with clinical, operational, and executive leadership to align cardiovascular services with organizational goals and to ensure exceptional patient outcomes, service line growth, and optimal resource utilization.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Lead the development and execution of strategic plans to support the growth and sustainability of cardiovascular services, aligned with system-wide goals.

    + Oversee day-to-day operations across the cardiovascular program while managing high-impact service line initiatives and projects.

    + Ensure operational throughput, patient access, and hospital efficiency metrics are met or exceeded.

    + Collaborate closely with medical staff, nursing leadership, project managers, data abstractors, and other key stakeholders to develop and implement best practices and standardized protocols.

    + Maintain compliance with all applicable accreditation standards, certification requirements, and regulatory agencies (e.g., The Joint Commission, CMS, state-level agencies).

    + Monitor and report cardiovascular quality and performance metrics; drive continuous improvement and corrective action plans when needed.

    + Provide fiscal oversight, including budgeting, cost management, and resource planning.

    + Partner with state and system-level service line administrators to ensure cohesive strategy development, performance monitoring, and coordinated service line initiatives.

    + Serve as a liaison between operational teams and senior leadership, advocating for the needs of the cardiovascular program while aligning with broader organizational priorities.

    Complexity of Work:

    + Must demonstrate the ability to balance daily operational responsibilities with broader strategic initiatives.

    + Able to lead in a matrixed environment and coordinate policies and practices across multiple sites and departments.

    + Requires advanced organizational, analytical, and communication skills to drive performance across clinical and administrative teams.

    + Expected to stay current on emerging trends in cardiovascular care, hospital operations, and health policy.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Licensure/Certification/Registration(One of the following required):

    + Registered Nurse (RN), or

    + Certified Radiologic Technologist, or

    + Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) and/or Electrophysiology Specialist

    Education and Experience:

    + Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required.

    + Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in cardiovascular care or clinical program leadership, including at least two (2) years in a formal leadership or management capacity.

    + Master’s degree preferred.
