Position Overview
International's Procurement Team is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Project Sourcing Manager to support our new product development initiatives.
This role partners closely with the Category Management Team (CMT) and Engineering to drive sourcing strategies that align with International’s business goals and category direction.
The ideal candidate is a strong negotiator with experience managing complex sourcing projects, including those involving supplier-owned intellectual property and long lead times. This position focuses on sourcing for Transmissions, Engine Components, and Valvetrain/Block/Head systems.
There may be some early AM calls to accomodate different LOB's needs
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with advanced engineering teams to develop cost estimates and strategic sourcing plans for new product introductions.
+ Align sourcing strategies with category objectives, program timelines, and business goals.
+ Prepare and manage the strategic sourcing process, including RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
+ Participate and / or lead morning calls to align strategy and negotiations with all Global Brands
+ Develop qualified bidder lists and gather all technical and commercial requirements.
+ Analyze supplier proposals and lead cross-functional assessments (technical, quality, manufacturability, financial health, etc.).
+ Facilitate communication between suppliers and internal departments to resolve issues and ensure alignment.
+ Lead negotiations covering cost, pricing, tooling, development, packaging, and commercial terms to achieve optimal total cost of ownership (TCO).
+ Drive category alignment and lead source selection recommendations.
+ Prepare and present sourcing nomination materials for internal governance approvals.
+ Negotiate and execute commercial/legal agreements including Nomination Letters and Development Agreements.
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ At least 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience
+ At least 1 year of lead experience
OR
+ Master’s degree
+ At least 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience
+ At least 1 year of lead experience
OR
+ At least 8 years of purchasing/procurement experience
+ At least 1 year of lead experience
Additional Requirements
+ Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
+ Experience sourcing powertrain components in the automotive or commercial vehicle industry.
+ Strong background in supplier negotiations and competitive sourcing.
+ Proficiency in interpreting commercial contracts and legal agreements.
+ Ability to read and understand 2D technical drawings and product specifications.
+ Technical aptitude and interest in engineering concepts.
+ Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
+ Excellent negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
+ Willingness to attend and/or run early calls
