Job Overview
The University of Dubuque has a growing Aviation Department that is seeking a **Part-Time Aviation Dispatch and Operations Assistant** .
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Assist the Dispatch supervisor with managing tasks related to the scheduling and dispatching of aircraft and simulators and any dispatch operations-related responsibilities
+ Verify flight plans, review weather, track aircraft, maintain necessary records, and provide reports as needed
+ Communicate with students, flight instructors, and other operations staff on scheduling and dispatch needs and coordinate all related activities
+ Open and close the Babka Aviation Learning center and other UD facilities
+ Assist with the coordination of maintenance-related activities and squawking of aircraft with the aviation maintenance staff
+ Assist with aircraft push/pull responsibilities if needed and coordinate stacking of aircraft
+ Support the Director of Aviation Safety to ensure compliance with SMS requirements
+ Engage in life-long learning and scholarship opportunities to continuously enhance the Aviation Program and furtherance of the safety culture
+ Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University's _Mission_
Position Skills and Abilities:
+ Ability to communicate effectively
+ Exceptional skills using Microsoft Office and other computer software
+ Ability to pass an FAA/DOT drug test
Requirements:
+ Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
+ Valid US driver's license
+ Experience in dispatching or similar operations in an aviation or non-aviation environment is preferred
