As a Non-Certified CS/SPD Technician, you play a key role in how our operating rooms care for patients. Collaborating with the Manager, Lead Tech, Charge Tech and other Techs, you will ensure the organization and proper maintenance of a high-volume Sterile Processing Unit. In this role, you will receive ample support, training and education, including knowledge of operating the latest, state-of-the-art processing equipment and sterilization tools and concepts.

A caregiver in this position works evenings/nights from 3:00PM - 11:30PM and 11:00PM - 7:30AM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

+ Provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment.

+ Provide case cart management.

+ Understand proper handling of equipment, instrumentation and chemicals.

+ Perform preventative maintenance.

+ Observe personal protective equipment standards in the decontamination process.

+ Scan, sort, inspect and assemble instruments by instrument list and wrap and label as documented in the procedure.

+ Perform recordkeeping.

+ Build case carts using electronic preference cards and dispatch them to appropriate locations.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ Sterile Processing Distribution Certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) within 18 months of hire

+ Three years of office experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ One year of Healthcare experience or a similar background in Mechanical/Manufacturing Assembly

+ Military experience as a Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F) or similar considered

Physical Requirements:

+ Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds

+ Pushing, pulling and navigating supply carts weighing less than 75 pounds
