We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Function Testing team at Winter Haven Hospital. The Respiratory Therapist is a clinical professional who utilizes the department's scope of services to access, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care as an integral member of the healthcare team.
Responsibilities Include:
+ **Delivers Respiratory Care Services under the order of the physician and in accordance with protocols established by the hospital, other health care providers, or the board and functions in situations of unsupervised patient contact requiring individual judgment.**
+ **Performs noninvasive and invasive procedures with minimal oversight.**
+ **Administer pulmonary diagnostic testing for patients based on ATS standards.**
+ **Develop exercise prescriptions and risk factor modification incorporating comorbidity and musculoskeletal disorders, following established program standards and guidelines.**
+ **Create Individual Treatment Plans through physical assessment and testing, including exercise and strength training programs, patient education, and behavioral health support.**
+ **Provide patient education tailored to individual treatment plans.**
+ **Demonstrate proper instruction and technique for performing exercises and strength training to ensure patient safety and adherence.**
+ **Report significant changes in patient clinical status to the healthcare team and assist with emergency care according to department policy.**
+ **Complete patient assessments for disease-specific risk factors and clinical needs impacting treatment plans.**
+ **Promote clinical outcomes and quality improvement initiatives.**
+ **Collect data for and maintain AACVPR program accreditation.**
+ **Referrals Review, Insurance and authorizations, Patient Scheduling, maintains patient files, coordinates with physicians for program planning.**
+ **Gym Equipment Safety and cleaning, inventory and organizing.**
Certifications and Licensures Required:
+ **RRT (Florida Respiratory Therapy License)**
+ **Active NBRC Credential for RRT, RRT-CPFT or RRT-RPFT preferred**
+ **BLS (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)**
+ **ACLS (Cardiovascular) - within 6 months**
+ **PALS (Pediatric) – within 6 months**
+ **CPFT or RPFT within 1 year of hire**
Education Required:
+ **Associate's Respiratory Therapy**
Experience Required:
+ **5 years Respiratory**
Specific Skills Required:
+ **Pulmonary Rehab and PFT experience is preferred.**
+ **Clinical skills appropriate to position**
