+ Manager of Patient Registration

+ Summary:

+ The Patient Registration Supervisor oversees the registration process for the hospital and outpatient clinics. This role ensures timely and accurate registration, adherence to policies and procedures, efficiency in the patient registration functions, and delivery of high quality patient service.

+ Work Schedule:

+ Patient Access is a 24/7 operation; position is required to work varying shifts- including night shift, weekends and holidays-as needed to support patient volumes. Position also participates in an on-call rotation to ensure consistent leadership coverage.

+ SKILLS & ABILITIES

+ Education

+ + Associate's degree in a related field or 3 years' equivalent work experience in healthcare or administration required.

+ Experience

+ + Minimum of three years of front-line registration experience in a hospital or ambulatory setting required; prior experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred

+ Proficient computer skills with strong keyboarding skills required

+ Excellent customer service with good verbal and written communication skills required

+ Must have strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

+ Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex or escalated situations calmly and effectively

+ Ability to coach and support staff while maintaining a positive and productive team environment

+ Knowledge of insurance verification, financial clearance processes and patient access workflows preferred

+ Familiarity with Meditech and Experian systems strongly preferred

+ Computer Skills

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.

+ + Strong computer literacy, including accurate and efficient data entry

+ Knowledge of Meditech or other hospital EMR systems for registration and scheduling highly preferred.

+ Ability to navigate and utilize multiple software applications related to patient registration, eligibility and reporting functions

+ + Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to guide and support frontline staff

+ Experience handling mult-line switchboard and cash collection is helpful.

+ Must be capable of performing all duties required of the registration clerk.

+ Position requires prolonged periods of sitting and frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and data entry.
