    _Nurse Director opportunity with Trinity Health Livonia_

     

    The Director, Nursing Practice & Education provides direction to multiple nursing-related functions including the nursing office, the shift administrators, the nursing float pool as well as nursing education. In this role, the position provides nursing leadership support via the shift administrators to assist with staffing needs, bed/patient movement, etc. In addition, the role cultivates an environment of lifelong learning by supporting the development of effective quality, innovative, creative, and fun continuing education activities, implementing evidence-based practice innovations, and continuously evaluating further learning needs and/or practice changes. Supports a shared leadership philosophy and the professional practice model for patient care services.

    POSITION PURPOSE

    + Serves as a member of the organization’s nursing leadership team. Responsible for day-to-day operations, scheduling, staffing and providing 24/7 accountability for patient care delivery, planning, and evaluation of services of one or more clinical areas.

    + Participates in and supports strategic development and outcomes management of nursing clinical areas.

    + Responsible for review and evaluation of operations and services in accordance with business requirements, marketplace trends and technological needs.

    + Provides clinical and administrative leadership for planning, organizing, directing, monitoring and evaluating safe, superior and preeminent quality patient care to ensure the advancement of clinical practice and patient care for a nursing unit that is consistent with the ANA Scope of Practice, American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL) Nurse Leader/Manager competencies, and American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Standards.

    + Collaborates with and supports director and key leaders, groups and stakeholder audiences in the development and implementation of operational plans, goals and objectives _._

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    + State of Michigan Registered Nursing license required

    + Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.

    + Minimum of two (2) years clinical nursing experience

    + Requires demonstrable leadership experience at the unit level

    + Knowledge of professional nursing practice in a clinical specialty evidenced through professional practice/administrative certification.
