Description
Join Amazon's Customer Logistics Security team as a Systems Security Engineer supporting our critical Splunk infrastructure. In this role, you'll help protect Amazon's global operations through advanced SIEM management, enhancing our security monitoring capabilities and ensuring operational resilience.
- Work with AWS cloud infrastructure and Splunk deployments
- Implement security monitoring solutions using infrastructure as code
- Support critical security detection systems for worldwide operations
Key job responsibilities
- Support and maintain Splunk infrastructure used for security monitoring across Customer Logistics Security environments
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for security infrastructure deployment
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code principles (AWS CDK) to manage security tooling
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues in AWS and Splunk environments
- Develop and maintain Python, Bash, and/or TypeScript scripts for automation
- Create and update documentation for infrastructure configurations and operational procedures
- Collaborate with security engineers to implement monitoring use cases
- Participate in on-call rotations to support critical security infrastructure
A day in the life
You'll start your day reviewing infrastructure health metrics and addressing any overnight issues. You might update CDK templates to deploy new monitoring capabilities, collaborate with detection engineers on use case implementations, and work with your team lead to prioritize infrastructure improvements. You'll build automation to enhance operational efficiency while ensuring our monitoring systems remain reliable.

We maintain security infrastructure that processes billions of log events daily to identify potential threats. Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, AWS & its constructs, and the AWS CDK, Bash, and/or Typescript. Splunk Administration experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience
- Experience with AWS products and services
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C+- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, AWS & its constructs, and the AWS CDK, Bash, and/or Typescript. Splunk Administration experience preferred.
