Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and enhance financial operations for their organization in Oak Ridge, Tennessee (position is remote). This position requires a skilled and detail-oriented individual to manage accounting functions, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide strategic financial insights. As a Long-term Contract position, it offers the opportunity to contribute to the organization's success while developing long-term financial strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage general ledger accounting functions, including account reconciliations and month-end closings.

• Develop and monitor cash flow forecasts to maintain financial stability.

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and standards specific to non-profit organizations.

• Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results against expectations.

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial records, statements, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.

• Oversee proper allocation and accounting of grant costs in accordance with 2 CFR 200 Cost Principles.

• Lead the preparation of annual operating budgets and forecasts.

• Support internal and external audits by ensuring financial data and practices meet established requirements.

• Implement and update organizational policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls.

• Train, supervise, and develop accounting staff to enhance team performance and foster growth.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related fields.

• Proficiency in Costpoint software for financial management.

• Strong expertise in fund accounting and government contracts.

• Knowledge of governmental and non-governmental accounting practices.

• Demonstrated ability to manage cash flow forecasts and variance analysis.

• Experience with year-end and quarter-end closings and audits.

• Familiarity with accounting standards for grants and non-profit organizations.

• Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage staff and collaborate across departments.

• Nice to Have - CPA, MBA or CMA and experience with revenue recognition
