Description We are looking for a talented Editorial Designer to join our team on a contract basis in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will bring creative ideas to life by designing visually compelling book covers, magazine layouts, and other print materials. This position requires a strong eye for typography, formatting, and layout design to create precise and engaging publications.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop layouts for books, magazines, and other print publications with a focus on visual appeal and readability.

• Create and refine book covers, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and target audience preferences.

• Apply expertise in typography and formatting to enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of print materials.

• Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud tools, including Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator, to produce high-quality designs.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver designs that meet expectations.

• Prepare comprehensive layouts for review and approval prior to final production.

• Handle print production tasks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.

• Develop brochures and other marketing materials with creative and precise layouts.

• Manage copy and page layouts, ensuring consistency and attention to detail.

• Stay updated on industry trends to incorporate innovative design techniques into projects. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in editorial design or related fields.

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator.

• Demonstrated experience designing book covers and magazine content.

• Strong skills in typography and formatting for print publications.

• Ability to create comprehensive layouts and manage page design effectively.

• Knowledge of print production processes and requirements.

• Familiarity with brochure design and marketing materials.
