Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist for a 3-month contract position with a healthcare provider in The Dalles, OR. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing, strong knowledge of insurance claims processes, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with healthcare staff.

Responsibilities:

+ Process and submit insurance claims (electronic and paper) accurately and timely

+ Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper billing codes

+ Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and rejections with insurance providers

+ Work closely with the clinical and administrative teams to resolve billing issues

+ Maintain accurate billing records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and industry standards

+ Assist with patient billing inquiries and provide clear, professional communication

Requirements

1+ year of experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle

Proficiency with billing software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Excellent communication and follow-up abilities

High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in medical billing or coding a plus
