he Diesel Mechanic A Tech will play an integral part of the maintenance team, responsible for ensuring optimal performance and reliability of diesel engines within our fleet. Leveraging technical expertise, the Diesel Mechanic A Tech will complete advanced diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance of diesel engines, transmissions, and associated components. This role requires a strong foundation in diesel engine mechanics, keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Although additional duties and related tasks may be assigned, the essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:
+ Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot issues in diesel engines and associated components.
+ Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schematics, and procedure manuals.
+ Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, in adherence to manufacturer specifications.
+ Conduct thorough repairs and overhauls on diesel engines and related systems to meet industry standards.
+ Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including wiring, sensors, and electronic control modules.
+ Complete HVAC work as identified in the MACS 609 certification, including but not limited to, completing diagnostics from the Information Center, diagnostics of high/low temperatures and pressures, and recharge and evacuation of A/C system.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, services, and parts used to contribute to a comprehensive maintenance history.
+ Ensure all repairs meet quality standards and comply with safety regulations.
+ Work Collaboratively with other team members to achieve efficient and effective workflow.
+ Review assignments and schedules with lead shop personnel, and ensure all information is fully understood prior to completing assignments
+ Collaborate and provide technical input to Lead Mechanic and Director for composing training documents, handbooks, and SOP’s etc.
+ Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education / Experience
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Technical Degree in Diesel and Industrial Technology (or similar focus)
+ 7 years experience in a diesel/bus repair and maintenance environment
+ If no degree, 10 years’ experience in a diesel/bus repair and maintenance environment
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
+ Valid Driver’s License
+ Class A or B state driver’s license with a passenger endorsement and air brakes certification.
+ ASE Master Diesel Mechanic certification
+ Cummins certifications preferred
+ MACS (Mobile Air Conditioning Society) Section 609 certification
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Demonstrates strong general math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Performs these operations with units of American currency, Regular and Military time, and imperial measurements of weight, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Skills
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

**Pay Details:** $40.00 to $51.00 per hour
