Position Summary
A career in Quality Assurance will provide the opportunity to develop and implement programs to establish and maintain quality and safety standards of existing products and services, as well as developing programs to focus employees on quality and safety improvements. This typically includes developing policies, procedures and methods to check product, material, components and/or operational quality and improvement. This includes overseeing quality assurance engineering, in-process and final inspection, supplier/vendor QA engineering, and/or process excellence programs for SJI.
Roles within Quality Assurance are responsible for safety operations for SJI, including the development of strategic priorities, processes and operating procedures to ensure compliance with appropriate regulations, quality and safety standards. This also includes surveillance and safety of activities consistent with the company’s operating procedures and regulatory and/or legislative requirements. This role also includes coaching construction inspectors, operations employees and contractors regarding adherence to company quality and safety policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal codes. The team is responsible for the compliance and quality assurance functions to ensure that corporate financial and strategic goals are attained within reasonable risk tolerances.
Hybrid Role
Home office is in Waterford, NJ, but you must be comfortable with traveling for fieldwork
Essential Functions:
+ Performing field audits and inspections to ensure internal employees and contractors are performing tasks in compliance with organization manuals and regulatory requirements.
+ Performing (under some supervision) assigned tasks that support day-to-day activities and project goals.
+ Following appropriate methods and techniques in performing tasks and preparing related reports.
+ Collaborating with supervisory personnel to develop routine methods.
+ Recommending alternatives, examining new methods and techniques, and possibly proactively seeking out senior personnel to discuss potential solutions to problems.
+ Participating in group meetings. Possibly presenting results of work, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work.
+ Working under direct guidance on a component of a project, interacting primarily within the job family.
+ 90% of the duties of this role will require field audits and observations.
+ Reporting to job sites to monitor field personnel activities to verify compliance with all SJI manuals and regulatory directives.
+ Post auditing completed fieldwork
+ Completing safety assessments on internal field personnel
+ Review of service record cards submitted by internal and contractor personnel
+ Additional auditing activities supporting Records and Operations departments as directed by QA Manager
+ This role may also require auditing of non-field activities and additional regulatory processes.
+ This is a role that contributes through own efforts and application of expertise, skills, or tasks.
Qualifications
Required Background:
+ Bachelor’s degree with 0 years of relevant experience
+ Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Compensation Range:
$48,375 - 77,400
We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
