    Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance SpecialistJob Description

     

    The EHS Compliance Specialist is accountable for ensuring adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs, including ISO and OHSAS standards, as well as compliance with government regulations. The role involves overseeing regulatory reporting, promoting safe work performance, generating EHS performance metrics, conducting employee training, and addressing environmental, health, and safety issues.

    Responsibilities

    + Ensure compliance with EHS programs and government regulations.

    + Oversee completion of required regulatory reports to WIDNR.

    + Develop proactive EHS systems, policies, and procedures to promote safe work performance.

    + Generate performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of EHS programs.

    + Conduct or arrange for training of all employees on EHS matters.

    + Report, monitor, and assist in correcting environmental, health, and safety problems.

    Essential Skills

    + Real-world application knowledge in driving a safety culture.

    + Safety motivation and continuous improvement mindset.

    + Knowledge of EHS, OHSAS, OSHSAS 145001, and government regulations.

    + Understanding of regulatory and compliance obligations.

    + Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Office suite.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Minimum of 3 years related work experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.

    + Critical thinking skills to evaluate root causes and implement solutions.

    + Knowledgeable of ISO requirements and standards.

    Work Environment

    The work environment requires the ability to sit for extended periods, maneuver to various areas of the office, shop, warehouse, or manufacturing plant, and lift up to 35 pounds. Employees must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at their desk area. Manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment are necessary. The role demands the ability to manage multiple objectives, changing priorities, and reassign priorities to complete assignments. Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English, and the ability to respond to visual and oral cues are required.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
