Job Description
As a Lab Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Technical/Laboratory Manager to ensure the laboratory quality system remains compliant. Your contributions will be vital in color product development and production quality control.
Responsibilities
+ Support the Technical/Laboratory Manager in maintaining a compliant laboratory quality system.
+ Participate in color product development and production quality control.
+ Operate lab equipment including convection drying ovens, Carver Press, Arburg molding machines, roll mills, and spectrophotometers.
+ Conduct color evaluations using both instrumental and visual methods.
+ Perform physical testing such as bulk density, moisture analysis, specific gravity, melt flow rate, and ash content.
+ Certify finished products and maintain quality assurance records.
+ Manage non-conforming products and operate specialized equipment like weatherometers.
+ Formulate color matches, supervised and unsupervised depending on level.
+ Complete documentation for color matches and create product codes.
+ Enter product formulas into manufacturing systems.
+ Prepare Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
+ Manage shift personnel and coordinate with production and lab teams.
+ Review and revise formulas for incoming orders.
+ Evaluate alternative raw materials for quality compliance.
+ Perform liquid color matching and testing using grind gauge, mixer, spatula test, viscometer, weight per gallon.
+ Execute pump advisory procedures and enter liquid formulas.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in laboratory operations and quality control.
+ Knowledge in GMP practices.
+ Understanding of chemistry and biology.
+ Ability to perform analysis and wet chemistry.
+ Familiarity with quality assurance processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma is required.
+ Life Science Degree preferred (chemistry, biology, polymer science, etc.).
+ 1+ years of GMP Laboratory Experience required if lacking a 4-year scientific degree.
+ Flexibility to work shifts.
Work Environment
You will be working in a climate-controlled laboratory setting, where cross-training on multiple instrumentations is encouraged. There are opportunities for growth and development in lab quality and exposure to R&D.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
