    Job Description

    Mount Sinai Behavioral Health Canter is seeking a Director for the Family Treatment and Training Program.

     

    The Mount Sinai Behavioral Health Center (MSBHC) is a new facility in downtown Manhattan which serves an inner city patient population. The mission of the MSBHC is to provide top-notch mental health care to Center patients and to offer exceptional training and education to Psychiatry and Psychology trainees. Goals of our program are to offer patients a safe environment in which to seek mental health care, where exclusion is avoided, and where empirically validated treatments are provided with respect for individual differences. This program is exceptional in being the first of its kind in NYS to offer an integrated treatment model, combining and co-locating psychiatric, addictions, and primary care services.

    Qualifications

    + Candidates for the full-time, in person position must have a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) from an American Psychological Association (A.P.A.) accredited graduate program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and have completed an A.P.A. accredited internship.

    + Candidates must be licensed as a psychologist in New York State.

    + Specialized training in Family and Couples therapies is required as is at least three years of post-licensure experience in providing trauma-informed family and couples treatments.

    + Prior experience in providing clinical supervision and service provision within hospital-based settings is also necessary.

    + We place a high degree of emphasis on fostering a practice that benefits our community and seek an individual with shared values.

     

    Compensation range from 120K to 170K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.

    Responsibilities

    The Director of the Family Treatment and Training Program is a Psychologist responsible for:

    1) _Program development_ : Maintaining and building out comprehensive family therapy services for both internal and external family referrals;

     

    2) _Teaching and supervising trainees in delivering trauma-informed family therapy_ : Designing and implementing training curricula for psychiatry and psychology trainees, based on their developmental level using a combined didactic and experiential approach;

     

    3) _Program evaluation and quality assurance:_ Implementing a rigorous program evaluation (both process and outcomes) to better understand the families we serve;

     

    4) _Provision of clinical services_ : Evaluating and treating families, couples and individuals at the adult and child outpatient clinics.
