SUMMARY OF THE JOB :
Reporting to the Portfolio Management Team Lead of the Small Business Loan Center (“SBLC”), the incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day functions of the portfolio management segment within the SBLC, which includes lending relationships that have an aggregate exposure not to exceed $1,000,000. Promotes and encourages a highly responsive customer-focused environment that is sensitive to the needs of both internal and external clients. This position will be onsite but may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Monitoring an assigned portfolio of loans, performing collection activity, completing renewals, periodic reviews, and evaluation loan modification requests while adhering to department procedures.
+ Exercises independent decision making relative to all SBLC loan decisions.
+ Using commercial credit scoring models and prudent personal judgment, the position involves making sound recommendations to the Team Lead regarding recommendations concerning risk ratings of current relationships during periodic reviews and renewal process.
+ Interacts directly with BBOs, branch managers and members of the Specials Assets team to convey findings and recommendations for the course of action to maintain credit quality and minimize loan losses.
+ Perform site inspections when appropriate.
+ May assist in some administrative functions of the department during peak demand time or as requested by the Team Lead.
DIMENSIONS
+ Ability to function in a high-volume environment, utilizing scoring models and portfolio management tracking data to ensure credit quality of the SBLC loan portfolio.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
+ Portfolio Management: Assists in the evaluation of SBLC portfolio of loans and determines risk characteristics thereof.
+ Product Support: Whether a bank customer, BBO, branch manager or market manager, the incumbent is expected to provide excellent product support to the customer. This may include collection calls, general customer inquiries or intra-bank training.
Minimum knowledge/skills:
+ Bachelor’s Degree and/or professional work experience.
+ Fundamental working knowledge of commercial credit analysis.
+ Strong customer service and communication skills both verbal and written.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
+ Three years of commercial loan portfolio management experience with a focus on small business lending.
+ Prior experience with Baker Hill and SageWorks suite of products
+ Prior experience in SBA lending including prior experience with ETRAN and other SBA-related platforms
