Job Title: Physician Billing – Refunds, Credits & Underpayments Specialist

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30AM:4:45PM

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team in managing physician billing accounts, with a focus on refunds, credits, and underpayments. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reconciliation and compliance with payer contracts and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Analyze physician billing accounts to identify and resolve credit balances, refunds, and underpayments.

+ Coordinate daily workflows and support staff in executing timely and compliant account resolutions.

+ Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines.

+ Conduct insurance follow-up and utilize payer contracts to validate and resolve discrepancies.

+ Process payer recoupments and refunds accurately and efficiently.

+ Communicate effectively with ancillary departments including Insurance AR Follow-up and Cash Posting.

+ Provide analytical support and oversight of collection agency activities.

Required Skills & Experience:

+ Intermediate-level experience in physician billing and insurance follow-up.

+ Strong understanding of payer contract terms and reimbursement methodologies.

+ Proficiency in processing Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance claims.

+ Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-10, and medical billing practices.

+ Experience with invoicing, payment posting, and accounts receivable management.

+ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Prior experience supporting physician billing operations.

+ Knowledge of billing systems and electronic health record (EHR) platforms.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $55000.00/yr.
