Position Summary:
Responsible for the overall management and general operation/coordination of all aspects of Sleep Lab and Neurodiagnostics for the Guthrie System. The Manager of the Sleep Lab/Neurodiagnostics works collaboratively with the Medical Directors to ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting guidelines.
Education & License:
NY Respiratory Therapist license required. RRT credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. Sleep disorder specialist (SDS) preferred.

NY Polysomnographic Technologist license required. Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or Sleep Disorder Specialist credential through National Board of Respiratory Care.

Pennsylvania RCP license required. RRT credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. Sleep disorder specialist (SDS) preferred.
Registered Respiratory Therapist -or- Registered Polysomnographer
BS or BA required, MS or MA preferred.
Experience:
5 years of experience in Respiratory or Sleep Medicine
Essential Functions:
+ Develops marketing and strategic growth plans for Sleep Lab.
+ Develops and maintains positive relationships with host institutions and contacts
+ Provides leadership and develops a business plan for strategic growth in existing and for new areas of service
+ Reviews current literature for sleep disorders, and keeps current on new techniques and advances in the fields
+ Meets with physicians to address any concerns, patient information, updates, and maintains positive communications and promotes “referral development”
+ Maintains competency and ability to perform all duties of Polysomnography Technologist
+ Maintains competency to score polysomnographic studies as required by departmental demand using R&K standards and AASM recommendations
+ Coordinates the utilization of equipment for Sleep Services
+ Provides coverage as technician/technologist when necessary
+ Keeps equipment in clean, operating condition.
+ Plans, organizes, manages, and directs Sleep Lab and Neurodiagnostics for the Guthrie System
+ Provides leadership and oversight for all Sleep Services and Neurodiagnostics to ensure that work is completed timely, efficiently, and accurately
+ Selects, develops, mentors, counsels, supervises, disciplines, and evaluates Sleep Services and Neurodiagnostic employees
+ Evaluates and addresses staffing needs within the department. Assures adequate and competent staff 24 hours/day
+ Provides leadership for the educational needs and competency of staff coordinates appropriate education and training for staff based upon requirements and identified opportunities for improvement
+ Coordinates staff meetings and educational programs within the department (i.e., Sleep Lab/Sleep Services and Neurodiagnostics) as appropriate
+ Provides leadership and completes administrative business tasks associated with Sleep Lab and Neurodiagnostics operations
+ Prepares and presents annual budgets with recommendations for annual operating expenses, capital equipment, and space/construction planning based upon program and organizational needs
+ Reviews monthly financial statistics and plans expenditures within budget assumptions
+ Manages the inventory of supplies and maintenance of equipment used within the departments
+ Maintains a copy of testing schedule for all host institutions for staff/equipment utilization
+ Reviews, revises and ensures compliance with departmental policies and procedures
+ Files records, completes and forwards appropriate billing information
+ May be required to seek Accreditation as a Sleep Disorder Center and ensure on‐going compliance with regulatory standards, regulatory agencies and accrediting organizations.
