    The Transitional Recovery Unit (TRU) is Allegheny County's only extended acute treatment program, offering a structured and supportive inpatient environment. This 10-bed program is designed for individuals who require intensive care yet can also benefit from skill-building and support to transition successfully into community living. We utilize Psychiatric Rehabilitation as our primary treatment model to empower individuals on their recovery journey.

     

    The Comprehensive Recovery Unit (CRU) is an extension of TRU, providing 10 private beds for individuals experiencing symptom remission. While these individuals still need the structured support of an inpatient setting, CRU helps them further develop the skills and support system needed for community reintegration.

     

    This role will work mainly daylight hours - No weekends or holidays

     

    This is a Union position with a set pay rate of $16.50.

    Responsibilities:

    Patient Coordination

    + Request and log patient appointments, evaluations, consultations, and escorts (verified by RN).

    + Obtain various patient reports from the computer (e.g., dietary list, laboratory orders).

    Communication

    + Answer the telephone and deliver messages.

    + Sort unopened mail and place in designated boxes.

    Supplies and Equipment

    + Maintain unit supplies and equipment.

    Data Management

    + Maintain database for admission and discharge information.

    + Manage patients' written medical records/charts as per policy and procedure.

    Clerical Support

    + Provide clerical coverage to other nursing units as directed by the Manager of Clinical Support Services.

    + Complete photocopying and faxing as requested.

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Computer experience preferred.

    + The incumbent must be physically capable of running toward or away from areas where problems are occurring and pushing, pulling, lifting equipment such as wheelchairs, carts, boxes, etc.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    + Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    + Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

    + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

    + Act 33 with renewal

    + Act 34 with renewal

    + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
