    Job Summary

    The Center for Native Excellence & Tribal Engagement ( NETE ) at the University of Utah is hiring a part-time Research Assistant. This position will work closely with tribal communities, support campus and community events, and assist with research that informs partnerships and programming.

    Responsibilities

    + Help build relationships with tribal communities and campus partners.

    + Assist with planning and hosting events that support Native students and sustainability.

    + Support efforts that reflect Native cultures and strengthen community ties.

    + Help identify needs and strengths of Native students and tribal communities.

    + Assist with creating and using tools like surveys and interviews to gather information.

    + Work with students, tribal members, and campus partners throughout the process.

    + Help review and summarize data to find key takeaways.

    + Assist with writing a summary of findings and suggestions for next steps.

    + Track progress and participation in community events and student programs.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred

    + Experience working with Native American communities or similar settings

    + Basic understanding of Native cultures, histories, and current issues

    + Strong communication and organizational skills

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team

     

    Preferences

     

    + Experience working with Native American communities or similar settings.
