    Novant Health seeks a Lead Registered Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) at Hemby Childrens Hospital in Charlotte, NC.

     

    Respiratory Therapists are eligible for a signing bonus up to $20,000 at qualifying locations. Relocation reimbursement up to $7,500 at qualifying locations.

     

    + Schedule: 7am to 7pm- Day Shift

    + Department: Peds - Respiratory

    + Location: Charlotte, NC

    Responsibilities

    What You’ll Do:

    + Acts as a patient advocate for the patient and their support system by incorporating education in the interdisciplinary care plan.

    + Prioritize job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels and ensures timely completion of care interventions, medical orders, etc.

    + Administers and evaluates medication therapies, performs patient transfers and transports patients.

    + Ability to evaluate patient needs and provide appropriate routine respiratory care such as ABGs, bronchial hygiene therapy, etc., as well as perform higher levels of care in critical care areas and emergent situations.

    + Demonstrates independence in the specialty of Respiratory Care. Practices according to state requirements and standards.

    + Critical Care Specific: Ventilator management, code blue, airway management, interpretation and intervention with blood gas analysis, use of all related protocols for patient care.

    + Document care in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory requirements.

    Qualifications

    + Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. BS/BSRT, preferred.

    + Experience:

    + Minimum of two years as RRT in acute care setting, required.

    + One year of previous supervisory experience, preferred.

    + Licensure/Certification:

    + Registered by National Board of Resp Care, required.

    + Current RCP licensure in appropriate state, required.

    + Additional Skills Required: Exhibits leadership characteristics to include: listening to gain understanding, keeps promises made, supports the organization in word and deed, supports the staff, communicates effectively and asks for feedback, makes fair decisions based on the needs of all staff, shares knowledge to improve and challenge staff to be their best, treats others with fairness and respect, chooses competent, compatible staff, visualizes the big picture for the department as we relate to the organization, creates a personal connection with staff that fosters mutual respect, has a work ethic which is a model for the staff and motivates staff through encouragement and vision for the department.
