    The **CMP Manufacturing Engineering Senior Lead Engineer** role at Micron is a high-impact leadership opportunity in Boise, Idaho. This position is designed for an experienced leader with a strong track record of guiding engineering leaders across different disciplines and driving strategic initiatives in a complex manufacturing environment.

     

    You will be responsible for empowering a team of engineering leaders, fostering a culture of excellence, and aligning area performance with organizational goals. Your leadership will be instrumental in advancing safety, quality, and productivity benchmarks.

    Key Responsibilities

    Safety

    + Champion a proactive safety culture by coaching engineering leads to embed EHS and PHA best practices into daily operations.

    + Ensure safety systems are rigorously followed and continuously improved through audit and feedback loops.

    + Guide area team members in identifying systemic issues and implementing sustainable solutions.

    Leadership and Collaboration

    + Inspire and mentor engineering leads to grow their existing leadership capabilities and technical knowledge.

    + Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, facilities, process and equipment engineering to drive alignment and shared success.

    + Promote a culture of inclusion, transparency, and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.

    Technical Strategy and Execution

    + Oversee strategic planning for equipment performance improvements, including reduction of unscheduled downtime and long-term down management.

    + Support engineers in root cause analysis and resolution of complex technical challenges to drive long-term improvement.

    + Align area technical roadmaps with technology development and high-volume manufacturing requirements, ensuring readiness for future technology transfer.

    Project and Resource Management

    + Provide oversight and guidance on project prioritization and resource allocation to maximize impact and mitigate risk.

    + Ensure engineering leads are equipped to deliver projects on time and within scope.

    + Drive accountability through structured follow-up and milestone tracking.

    Talent Development and Performance Management

    + Lead performance management for engineering leads, including goal setting, feedback, and succession planning.

    + Foster a growth mindset by encouraging innovation, ownership, and continuous learning.

    + Ensure organizational structure supports both current operations and future scalability.

    Fab Performance Optimization

    + Collaborate with planning and manufacturing to optimize output, reduce variability, and improve workstation balance.

    + Guide engineering leads in deploying tactical and strategic solutions to enhance fab performance.

    + Monitor key metrics and lead initiatives that drive sustained improvements in cost, cycle time, and manufacturing availability.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + This position requires collaborating with Technology Development, Process & Equipment Engineering, Facilities, Planning, as well as our global network of manufacturing sites. You must be able to support effective collaboration across all geographies and departments.

    + Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams to meet challenging goals.

    + Expertise in managing and mentoring team performance.

    + Ability to exemplify Micron values and leadership competencies.

    + Advanced understanding of manufacturing requirements and processes.

    + International travel may be required.

    + Required: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent experience, and currently an E3 or higher.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Proven ability to lead and coordinate meetings, initiating successful follow-up actions.

    + Exceptional partnering, negotiation, and teamwork skills.

    + Strong leadership qualities with the ability to coordinate efforts across diverse groups.

    + Multi-tasking of complex projects efficiently with strong communication skills.

    + Proficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant software.

    + Previous leadership experience in a similar role.

    + Familiar with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and 6S standards and practices.
