The Opportunity
Nutanix’s Developer Productivity team is responsible for enabling all of our developers to do their best work at Nutanix. We are the CI/CD team at Nutanix, we develop and maintain micro services, internal applications and tooling that is the bread and butter for building and shipping Nutanix products. We are a motivated team of Software Engineers solving interesting problems and focused on high quality deliverables.
About the Team
This is a newly created small QA team. The QA team will work on testing and validation of features contained on our weekly release schedule. This role is for a CI/CD QA Engineer on the Developer Productivity team at Nutanix. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall quality of our CI/CD pipelines. This role presents a unique opportunity to enhance the quality of our pipeline updates and make a meaningful impact.
You will work closely with developers to understand the requirements, create test plans, create automated test cases, and conduct manual testing in an agile, fast-paced environment. Your work will enable us to achieve successful bug-free and faster releases.
You will report to the QA Manager, who is dedicated to supporting your professional development and success. Our work setup at Nutanix is hybrid, allowing for a healthy balance between remote work and in-person collaboration. As a new team member, you will be expected to come into the office 3 days a week, providing you with the opportunity to engage face-to-face with your colleagues and participate in brainstorming sessions and team-building activities. This hybrid approach promotes a flexible work environment that prioritizes productivity and well-being.
Your Role
+ Ensure that functional requirements for all CI/CI Pipeline code changes, including responsive UI, backend services, and data stores, are thoroughly validated. This involves testing the builds in each Jenkins stage and validating the expected results.
+ Develop automated test cases using Python, Selenium/Puppeteer, and Jenkins to enhance test efficiency and coverage.
+ Collaborate closely with the development team to transform requirements into detailed, high-quality test plans and cases.
+ Contribute to developing clean, stable, and bug-free code by following industry-leading practices and methodologies .
+ Open bugs against issues discovered during testing using Jira.
What You Will Bring
+ BS in Computer Science or 3 -5 years of testing experience.
+ 3- 5 years of experience testing products using automation tools.
+ Experience with CI/CD principles and tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI or other automated build systems.
+ Familiarity with Python, Shell Scripting, Java, Go, C++ and Docker in a build environment.
+ You should be able to develop a test strategy, write test plans, and create detailed test cases.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 109,600 and USD $ 218,400 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
