JOB SUMMARY
The Sr. Manager, Group Distribution will lead strategic initiatives within the Groups, Meetings & Events (GME) segment, collaborating closely with the Sr. Directors. This role involves enhancing profitability, implementing innovative programs, analyzing performance, and refining strategies. Key responsibilities include developing direct customer connection strategies through channels like Marriott.com, managing relationships with digital group intermediaries (e.g., Cvent), and leveraging stakeholder engagement to drive compliance and evolve initiatives. The Sr. Manager will ensure alignment with business objectives and continuous improvement.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
_Required_
+ 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related field.
+ 5+ years’ experience in the business, sales and marketing, management operations, or related professional area.
+ An understanding of the Groups, Meetings and Events segment of business (e.g., marketplace, processes, systems, etc.)
_Preferred_
+ Experience in distribution, revenue management, sales or event management, related to the group segment.
+ Proficiency in building and maintaining relationships with external organizations and stakeholders, including account management.
+ Experience in project management
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Strategy, Planning and Execution
+ Manage the suite of direct group products and services.
+ Provide leadership for Marriott’s Group Meetings and Events GME strategy by executing priority initiatives.
+ Manage the development and execution of new GME initiatives and programs, with a focus on implementing strategies that encourage B2B customers to transact with hotels through direct channels and the lowest cost and most profitable channels.
+ Drive initiatives to improve efficiencies, reduce cost, and protect pricing integrity while maintaining profitable share in the GME segment.
+ Identify and deliver educational efforts on GME strategy to key internal stakeholders globally.
+ Executes program governance to manage issues, escalation, and project prioritization.
+ Lead segment specific projects / work as business needs dictate.
Account management support for digital group intermediaries.
+ Build/maintain trusted relationships with key distribution partners and vendors.
+ Manage negotiation planning process for group channel partners.
+ Provide expertise and guidance to Continents, hotels, sales associate, etc. for optimizing group digital channels (e.g., Cvent, Passkey).
+ Develop and maintain internal resources and materials to educate hotels on Marriott’s GME strategy, standards, and guidelines.
+ Work closely with appropriate teams to identify systems and technologies offering efficiencies and opportunities to maximize channel profitability and generate process improvements for hotels.
+ Manage and maintain measurement of key metrics and KPIs for group distribution partners.
+ Monitor the marketplace for news, developments, and strategic communications, and keep senior leaders well informed.
The salary range for this position is $98,500 to $143,700 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus.
Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
