This position is full time, 6:30a - 7p

This position is eligible for shift differentials.

Our Operating Room nurses are integral members of high-functioning teams committed to excellence and outstanding patient care, driven by their expertise, compassion and dedication to evidence-based practice, and operate at a higher level of practice. Emory University Hospital’s OR has been designated as “CNOR Strong” by the Competency and Credentialing Institute for the last 4 years.

+ Capable clinician who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population.

+ Routinely uses acquired knowledge, theory, research and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations. Functions as Charge Nurse when assigned. Orients staff or students as assigned in absence of designated preceptor.

+ Is able to apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family.

+ Utilizes patient/family focus on cost containment. Recognizes needs and advocates for patient based on knowledge of condition.

+ Identifies and implements a course of action in non-routine situations. May seek assistance to resolve complex issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Education: Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Experience: 2 years of recent nursing experience AND a minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of concentration.

+ Licensure: A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.

+ Certification: 1. BLS certification 2. Nursing Specialty Certification 3. ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire 4. Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty

+ Preferred Education: MSN or DNP

+ Number of Beds: 27

+ Patient Population: Cardiac & Thoracic, Transplant & Surgical Oncology, Vascular & Pain, Neurosurgery, Urology, Robotic, General, Gynecological, Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT), Oral Maxillofacial (OMF), Plastics, Ophthalmology

+ Targeted Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1
