Job Description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position supports the AAFP Foundation and its mission through the management and administration of grants, awards, and programs that advance the specialty of Family Medicine. This position oversees the Family Medicine Chapter Alliance grant and award programs, the Student Externship Matching Grants program, the Family Medicine Discovers scientific grant program, and the Family Physician Disaster Assistance program. Additionally, this position supports marketing efforts, assists the development team with donor relations, and serves as a liaison between the AAFP Foundation and various internal and external stakeholders through relationship-building.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
+ **Family Medicine Chapter Alliance:** Manages every aspect of the Family Medicine Chapter Alliance (FMCA), including biannual meetings of the FMCA and Steering Committee and the election of its members. Administers all aspects of the FMCA Grant Awards, Chapter Engagement Grants, and Outstanding Program Award, including coordination and management of the application process, communication with applicants and selected recipients, conducting program evaluation, reviewing all grant application submissions for eligibility, maintaining records of all grants, preparing award recommendations for approval by the Board of Trustees, and managing the allocation and disbursement of funds. In addition, this position works closely with marketing and the Steering Committee to support promotion and program development.
+ **Family Medicine Discovers:** Serves as a liaison between the AAFP Foundation and DARTNet Institute in the management of the Family Medicine Discovers program. Duties include: Basic program support to DARTNet on Foundation protocols; Foundation budget oversight; execution of scholar agreements and payments; assisting with marketing, communication, and development needs as required; and coordinating any needed legal feedback on program documents (i.e. MOU) annually. ****
+ Serves as Foundation staff representation at Work Group and internal meetings; supports Foundation Chair on the Work Group and prepares and circulates summaries of Work Group meetings; coordinates with DARTNet Institute for Board (e.g. PARC) memos and recommendations and reviewing documents.
+ **Student Externship Matching Grants:** Responsible for managing/administering the Student Externship Matching Grant Program (SEMG), including all forms of communication with the State Chapters and Chapter Foundations and the approval of the awards by the Board of Trustees, marketing the program through AAFP channels, reviewing Letters of Intent, disbursing funds, implementing program evaluations, and maintaining longitudinal tracking. In addition to developing and implementing new strategies to support program growth.
+ **Other Duties as Assigned:** Check log backup; donor thank you notes; conference and events; and managing the Family Physician Assistance program.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or knowledge acquired through equivalent work experience. The ideal candidate has at least two years of relevant experience, however, we are also open to considering recent graduates with demonstrated excellence in organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills to improve processes and programs, along with relevant internship or work experience. Basic accounting knowledge and a strong aptitude for math; public speaking; report writing, taking meeting minutes, program management; comfortable collaborating with people in a variety of settings and staffing levels; basic computer skills with knowledge using Microsoft products.
