Job Description
One of our largest pharmaceutical customers is seeing an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join their team in Durham, NC. The I&C Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and operational reliability of the instrumentation and controls that support facility-wide equipment, and facility systems through effective Corrective and Preventive (CAPA) Maintenance and Calibration practices.
Responsibilities:
Performs general instrumentation and controls troubleshooting, repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance to all site equipment, systems, process measurement and control, utility, laboratory, and bench-top instrumentation
Performs calibrations to instrumentation and controls
Follows standard procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) quality standards
Performs loop checks for new instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
Assists and performs lock out tag out (LOTO) as required to complete I&C/Metrology activities
Adheres to all safety requirements and follows safe work practices
Notifies management or Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) when unsafe conditions or hazards are found
Attends all required and safety and health training
Supports site operations and emergency work orders during off-hours, as needed
Performs spare parts assessments, as required

Skills and Requirements
5+ years of I&C experience or similar field
Experience with troubleshooting instrumentation and controls (Allen Bradley/Siemens PLCs)
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS), such as ProCalV5, Blue Mountain, Maximo, Infor EAM, etc. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology experience
Experience with Microsoft Office or other computer software
